His service will be held on Saturday, March 19 at Valley Mills Christian Church, 5555 Kentucky Ave at 1:00 P.M. Please bring memories, stories, and photos of his life.

Alvin Donald “Don” Pieper Jr. (age 67) or “Father Don,” as they called him in his college days, was a beloved husband to one, father to four, counselor to many, and friend to all. He lived on Earth from Dec. 27, 1948 – Mar. 14, 2016, and now lives in Heaven with his son Matthew. He cherished talking to people, even perfect strangers, for hours on end if time allowed. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, music and singing karaoke. He loved helping those less fortunate and worked hard all his life to provide a good life for his family. He acquired a BA in Business from Martin University and recently taught children with special needs.  He leaves behind his devoted wife of 45 years, Christine, step-mother Jean, sons; Don, Chris, and Scott, daughters-in-law Jen, Maresha, grandchildren; Devlin, Elizabeth, Nadira and Matthew, as well as numerous sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on. “I’m the man I am today, because you’re the man that you are.”  He will always be remembered for teaching us the value of hard work, the virtue of dedicating one’s life to family, the power of the mind, the importance of positivity, the dream of enterprise, the fascination of space, the love of life, and for always encouraging us to “Imagine”. His service will be held on Saturday, March 19 at Valley Mills Christian Church, 5555 Kentucky Ave at 1:00 P.M. Please bring memories, stories, and photos of his life. He was recently ordained as a minister of Christ, and now resides in Heaven where his Father called him home, to be with Matthew. May his heavenly ministry be ever joyous and may his dwelling above, where we will all join him one day, be blessed and full of love and inspiration. Amen.
